Our Friends
Some people from church backgrounds tend to label a church as “this” kind or “that” kind when they hear about its affiliations. We see our connections with other communities, churches, and organizations as loving, living relationships, not directives that dictate who we are, and we invite you to come meet us before you choose a label that fits.
Above all else, we are affiliated with God, through Jesus Christ, in the power of the Spirit. Therefore, we share a spiritual kinship with all those who affirm the most ancient Christian confession, “Jesus is Lord.”
- Within the larger Christian village, we are connected with the Nazarene tribe as a Nazarene church plant. We’ve felt blessed and supported by our friends in the local Nazarene church, especially as they provide guidance and counsel to our pastor.
- CPCP supports Kupenda, a Christian based organization that exists to meet the needs of children with disabilities in Kenya with the hope that they will feel loved and accepted. We’ve been especially blessed by visits from Cindy, Kupenda’s founder, and several member’s of its board.
- We are part of the loose conversation of Christians that is sometimes called, “the Emerging Church”, and specifically the local DC Cohort.
